Snarkiness

February 17, 2016

One of my favorite reviews mentions that I have a snarky streak.  I do, but the best snark around my house doesn't come from me, it comes from my husband.  Let me share a real conversation that happened a few days ago as an example.

I had just read an email from a few of my fellow "The Cowboy's Bride Collection" authors saying that their books had arrived when there was a knock at the door.  I jumped up and raced to see if, by some miracle, my books had made it all the way to Alaska.

Nope.  Door-to-door salesman.

My husband also came to the door where the following conversation took place:

Salesman: (after finding out I'm an author) You should read my uncle's books.  He had a pacemaker and a defibulator and died for nineteen minutes.  The doctors were able to revive him, but they told my aunt that he'd probably be 90-95% brain dead.  He recovered and wrote three books.

Husband: So...what you're saying is someone can be brain dead and still be an author.

Me: (could not stop laughing for a full minute)

And what kills me is how quickly my hubby can turn on the snark.  It takes me hours and lots of rewrites to come up with something half as funny.  There are many reasons I love my hubby, but his ability to make me laugh is right there at the top of my list.
